This is starting to become a trend in the oil industry, as a fuel pipeline operator Colonial Pipeline had to shut off it's entire network in 2021, which is nearly half of all of the East Coast's fuel supply, after a ransomware attack, where the company ended up paying $5 million in order stop it.
